Robots circulate independently in the corridors of the Nantes university hospital center and the Cholet hospital center to deliver drugs or medical devices to the departments, thus freeing up time for caregivers. Presented by their logistics managers on December 9, 2022 during the Hospital Purchasing Days (Journées de l'achat hospitalierJAH) organized by the Hospital Purchasing Network (Resah).

Since 2013, the Nantes University Hospital Center has been using mobile autonomous robots to provide transport logistics for flexible endoscopes. Two devices circulate every day in the Loire establishment, a pioneer in the field.

After five years of R&D, the Villeurbanne specialist in collaborative robotics Meanwhile has entered a very active marketing phase. Orders are pouring in for its mobile robots used by manufacturers to transport parts and loads, and by healthcare establishments to transport medical goods (diagnostics, blood bags, medicines, etc.)

Commissioned a few months ago by the Hospital center of Cholet, the logistics robot, nicknamed "Wall-e" internally, took charge of exchanges between the pharmacy and oncology, and at night the flow of biological samples between the emergency room and the lab. Capable of transporting up to 25 kg of products, the robot, which does not exceed 70 cm in wingspan, has already traveled 700 km. Enough to free up time for caregivers who can devote themselves to their core business.

Less than three months ago, the Cholet hospital center acquired an autonomous XuP-Med robot that the nursing staff quickly nicknamed Wall-e, in homage to the cartoon robot. Connected to the wifi, it is able to call the elevator.
