What are the characteristics of an Autonomous Mobile Robot?
Meanwhile’s mobile robots are completely autonomous. To achieve this, the robots use Artificial Intelligence to locate themselves at all times and dynamically avoid obstacles…
At Global Industrie 2025, Meanwhile once again presented its XuP-Stacker autonomous mobile robot. Designed to optimize intralogistics flows, this innovative robot attracted the attention of numerous specialist media.
The XuP-Stacker marks a turning point in Meanwhile’s product development strategy. This is the first time the company has designed a robot based directly on a market problem, drawing on research carried out with industrial users. Their feedback enabled us to design an AMR adapted to field requirements: flexibility, autonomy, safety and route optimization.
“We wanted to complete our range of AMRs with a new model, designed to meet a specific market need. For the first time, we carried out a survey, asking a number of users about their vision of autonomous mobile robotics and their intralogistics transport issues”, explains Noémie Kuiesine, Marketing Manager at Meanwhile.
The XuP-Stacker is an AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) with integrated storage space at the rear. It can transport several containers of various sizes in a single trip, whether totes, trays or cartons. Thanks to its modular grippers, it can automatically pick up and place loads on various supports and at different heights: shelves, tables, conveyors, worktops…
Its technical performance is at the service of productivity:
Load capacity: 45 kg
Operating time: approx. 10 hours
Speed: 1.20 m/s
Intelligent navigation: real-time calculation of the best route, with containers distributed in the desired order.
All in complete safety, thanks to an advanced navigation system incorporating laser scanners, sonar, sensors and emergency stops.
The XuP-Stacker is fully in line with Meanwhile’s ” For Human ” approach. By relieving operators from carrying repetitive loads and streamlining internal logistics circuits, the robot helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) and enables employees to concentrate on higher value-added tasks.
Following its presentation at Global Industrie 2025, the XuP-Stacker received extensive coverage in the trade press. Several articles highlighted the robot’s technical strengths and the user-centric approach adopted by Meanwhile.

With nearly a hundred robots installed in France, Switzerland, Belgium, and soon in Italy, Meanwhile continues its international expansion and is structuring itself accordingly.

On the occasion of the 4th edition of Printemps de la Robotique, an online conference dedicated to heavy load transport in healthcare facilities was held.
